Arts Award Club

Ellison Boulters is an Arts Award Centre. Children taking part in the group (presently some Year 4 children) work during several lunch time sessions (and other timetabled sessions, during the school day) to complete the “Arts Award Discover” certificate (all resources provided by school.) Part of the programme includes an independent research project also (to be completed out of school.)

Arts Award is...where young people take on challenges in an art form, participate in arts activities, experience arts events, get inspired by artists and share their arts skills with others. Young people complete and create a selection of activities throughout their creative journey. Along the way they are supported by an Arts Award adviser (Miss Toyne) acting as assessor, facilitator and mentor.

Arts Award Discover –

Arts Award Discover is the introductory award open to children and young people aged up to 25.

To achieve “Discover”, children and young people discover the arts around them, execute a variety of activities and find out about artists and their work and share their experiences with others through their collected evidence, whilst reflecting on their experiences.

Young people work towards their award at an Arts Award Centre. This could be an art gallery, theatre, museum, library, school (Ellison Boulters), college, youth club or an arts or cultural organization.

Trained Arts Award advisors (Miss Toyne), support young people to achieve their goals and assess their progress via their collected work. Gaining a certificate at the end from Trinity College, London.
