Homework

Each week the children will receive...

Reading

The children will bring home two reading books at a time. Please enjoy sharing these books with your child as much as possible and reflect on this by commenting/signing their 'pink book'. Books are changed as appropriate to each child.

Target Words/Spelling

These will primarily be from the National Curriculum phase words, our own school's year specific word lists and from your child's personal target words. These will come home with the children in their Pirate Spelling book on a Tuesday and should be learned as often as possible before their Show What You Know on a Monday. Please have fun helping your child to become a Sparkling Speller (see attachment below).

Maths

Times tables are at the core of much of the maths we carry out, as such it is vital that your child be able to recall the times tables facts as quickly as possible. We learn these every day in school and by singing along to the times tables songs with your child at home, you too can support their progress. Number bonds/facts are also an important area of learning in maths and daily rehearsal of these will help your child become a secure and confident mathematician.
