The Rainbow Garden

Gardening Club - Spring Update

So far this term we have been on an Autumn walk, explored the wildlife garden and thought about what we will plant in The Rainbow Garden when it is ready for us after Christmas.

Last week we made bird boxes to put up in the Wildlife Garden. Over the next few weeks we will be putting the bird boxes up in the Wildlife Garden and sending a couple to Monks Woods. We will also be talking about feeding the wild birds, planting the trees that have been donated by the Woodland Trust and making willow stars for Christmas.

We have enjoyed planting, nurturing and finally harvesting our potato crop. From growing the chits to tasting the potatoes, we have learnt such a lot and had great fun. We even made some new friends along the way. Can you spot him?

The children have been brightening up our winter garden by recycling wellington boots. They have also been busy collecting up garden canes and containers and storing them away for next year!
