EYFS/Y1: Kind Koalas - Mrs Bristow

Term 1 - 2021/22

We have had a fantastic first term!

The Kind Koalas have loved exploring their new classroom, the Forest School area, the Mud Kitchen and our local area. The term started with a Wow day where we built dens outside, used construction to build impressive structures and folded paper to make a structure collage.

Throughout the term we have been reading lots of Traditional Stories such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the Three Little Pigs which the children have responded to in their play.  We have seen puppet shows, drawings, pictures made out of loose parts and lots of paintings among other things. The children loved creating a strong structure that the big bad wolf would not be able to blow down!

In Forest School we have made some amazing structures using great teamwork! We took inspiration from our book called ‘The House Held up by Trees’ and made a structure to hold up a ball. In Art we then made houses out of clay. The Kind Koalas were great at using the tools carefully to add detail.
